Do it yourself------make your own leather tissue box - 2010-08-15
Now, even a simple napkin case can add style to your desk or conference room. And handcrafted leather tissue box is an elegant solution for one of life's little necessities and a handsome presentation when you hand the box to someone who needs a tissue. You will not spend your money on luxury leathergoods like this. Now I introduce the detail steps. We need several things:old leather jacket or scrap leather, sewing machine, upholstery thread or heavy duty thread, scissors or pinking sheers. At first we should measure the height, width, and so on of your cardboard tissue box. Then, cut out one piece of leather from an old vintage leather jacket or used leather jacket for each side. Add on an inch to each length and width. So if your tissue box is 4X4 inches on each side, you will need 5 5X5 inch pieces.Take the piece of leather that will be the top of the leather tissue box cover and cut a slit in the middle of it for the tissues to come out of. Next use a dark colored black or brown thread to match your leather. Use your sewing machine and set it on a zig zag stitch. sew around the opening you cut. This will reinforce the tissue hole and keep it from unraveling. Now a handmade leather tissue box is finished. You also can add something different depending on your favours.
